How ever you want to incorporate skiing or snowboarding, I’m here to capture it all. I’m passionate about skiing and photography, but even more passionate about helping you and your partner celebrate your wedding in a unique way that is true to you.

Gabrielle Stowe
Ski the Day began after I photographed an awesome ski wedding in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I realized that there was a lack of resources for adventurous couples who wanted to incorporate skiing or snowboarding into their wedding day. What gives me joy is knowing that I can help you make your dream day possible, even if you don’t quite know how yet.
I’m your photographer both on and off the slopes. However you decide to incorporate skiing or boarding into your day, I’m here to capture it. Whether you have a traditional church wedding and ski afterward, say your vows on snowboards at the top of the mountain, or want to ski with your wedding party between your ceremony and reception, I can document it all.
From skiing with my family as a child to competitive alpine ski racing for 10 years, my love for the mountains has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. This inspired me to move from the East Coast to Colorado to take advantage of some of the country’s best skiing! I am so honored to be able to capture such important moments on the mountain with rad couples.

Hi I'm Cat! I spent the first 20 years of my life in the land of palm trees and water sports, having never seen snow. But that all changed when I got a call from a friend to photograph their winter wedding in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. At the age of 32, I put on my first pair of skis and fearfully stepped onto a bunny slope. I was not a natural but I had really good friends who kept inviting me and letting me fall all over the greens. Thankfully, at the end of that first year the mechanics clicked and I was hooked forever. Seeing as though my husband had always been a ski addict, once I was in we packed up and moved to Colorado to chase all the glittery snow bluebird days.
Nowadays I ski about 30 days a winter and am thrilled to have joined forces with the talented Gabrielle who combines beautiful art and the joy of the slopes.
Quick facts: My favorite mountain is Snowmass. I love all French food and even make my own baguettes. I will pet any animal I'm given permission to. Putting on a rom-com is the best way to get me to leave, putting on a comic book movie is the best way to get me to stay. My favorite bands are Queen, the Black Keys, Blanco White, Two Door Cinema Club, and Fat Freddy's Drop.

How it works
Reserve Your Date
When you reach out to me we will work together on making your dreams possible to Ski the Day. First we’ll schedule a free consultation phone call to discuss what you are envisioning and how many hours of photography coverage would be right for you. Once you’re ready to lock this thing down, you’ll sign an online agreement and pay a retainer fee and you’re booked, baby!

Once you’ve reserved your date, we’ll craft your day just for you! We’ll choose your mountain (if you haven’t already), and start the process of planning an awesome day. I’m your photographer both on and off the mountain- want to grab a drink in the lodge, or warm up in some hot springs after hitting the slopes? I’m there to capture your day as it unfolds.
Ski the Day
It’s finally here, the Best Day Ever! You’ll spend your day exactly how you want- on the slopes with your favorite person (and some very excited liftees congratulating you).
Relive Your Day
Within three days you’ll receive some sneak peek photos of your day! Six to eight weeks from your date you’ll receive an online gallery of your photos to download and share with anyone and everyone. For video, you’ll receive 1-2 minute short films within 4 weeks. Longer highlight & documentary films on average take 3-12 weeks. You’ll then be able to look back on the best day ever with beautiful photos reflecting your adventurous hearts and love for each other. What could be better?!

GENERAL FAQ’s
Gabrielle, how experienced of a skier are you? How do you ski AND take pictures?
I’m a very experienced skier. I began skiing at a young age and alpine raced for 10 years. Both years of skiing and photographing have allowed me to confidently combine both.
How experienced of a skier or boarder do we need to be?
As long as you feel comfortable navigating on skis or a board, you can Ski the Day. If you only want to stick to the green runs, that is completely okay! This is your day and you can make it exactly how you want it.
We don’t know how to include skiing and boarding into our day… all we know is that I want to be on the mountain when we get married. Can you help with this?
Yes! I would LOVE to help you. I want to hear allll about what you’re envisioning and I can help come up with a plan that is perfect for the two of you. Let’s make this happen!
Can you photograph our day even when we’re not skiing or boarding?
I’m your photographer both on and off the slopes. However you decide to incorporate skiing or boarding into your day, I’m here to capture it. Whether you have a traditional church wedding and ski afterwards, elope on snowboards, or want photos of the two of you exploring town after a day on the mountain, I can document it all.
We would like to hire some other vendors but don’t know where to start. Do you have people you can recommend?
I sure do! I know some great local vendors that I can recommend. You name it- hair and make-up artists, florists, bakeries, musicians, DJs, caterers, private chefs, transportation companies, etc- I can send you a list of some lovely people who can make your wedding exactly how you want!
Do you charge differently depending on what mountain we choose?
All travel costs are included for every mountain in Colorado.
Are you buying our ticket? Do we buy your ticket?
You are responsible for your own lift ticket or pass. My ticket does not cost you extra regardless of the mountain.

We started in 2011, went full-time in 2012 and never looked back!
Where are you located?
Morrison, Colorado but we're also working towards a second home in the French Alps
Do you travel?
Yep, we've captured clients in 14 different states and 6 different countries as of 2022.
Do you bring backup gear?
ALWAYS! Anything can happen and we always bring multiple cameras and sound gear in case the worst happens.
How do you pick music?
We talk about your musical tastes, the feel, and the level of energy you like before we even get to shooting.
Afterward, I'll spend up to a week just listening to music to find the right song(s) for you.
What is your film style?
Upbeat and story-driven. We don't love slow films that make you feel sleepy. We think your story deserves the energy you put into it.
We're also big on audio, photos can tell a visual story while your video is where you can hear the sounds that bring you back to that place. The swish of skis, the click of the lift spooling up, the voice of your mom telling you she's proud of you, or your spouse saying I love you.

You can slide the coverage however you’d like, so if you’d prefer photos only on the mountain and then a celebration or activity afterward, 6 hours works well for that too.

4 HOURS OF COVERAGE
This is the minimum photography coverage I offer. You might think “oh we are just saying a few words, exchanging rings, and doing one run down the mountain. That’s only gonna take an hour, tops”. But I can tell you after several years in the wedding industry: everything takes longer than you think. When you factor in skiing & boarding, it takes even longer. Between making sure you have all your gear, waiting for the lift, riding up, you’re going to want to have some wiggle room on your wedding day. The last thing I want is for you to feel rushed, trying to squeeze in all the things you want to be photographed in a very short period of time. And most importantly, this is your wedding day! It deserves to be captured- the big moments, the little moments, the blink-and-you’ll miss-it moments. That’s why I’m there!

A Second Photographer
Highly recommended for larger weddings
This is a great option if you are having a larger or more formal wedding. The second photographer would be photographing the non-skiing portion of the day. Having two photographers allows more of your day captured, as well as different angles and more moments! If you and your partner are getting ready separately or in different locations, I would capture one of you and the second photographer would capture the other. If you are skiing during your cocktail hour and would like cocktail hour photographed, I would capture the ski photos while the second photographer would capture your guests.
$500 for the day
Day After Session
A day after session is the perfect opportunity to have another adventure together as a married couple the day after your wedding. You can don your wedding attire and get even more wedding photos or you can dress however you wish! The options are endless, but here are a few ideas to start you off:
A scenic helicopter tour and explore an untouched mountaintop.
Snowshoe to a frozen lake for a picnic
Ice skate hand in hand in a picturesque village square
Sightsee in a historic town
Hop into some hot springs as the snow falls
Catch epic mountain views at sunset

Reserving Your Date
In order to reserve your date, I require a signed agreement and a 50% retainer. All of this is done online and is super easy! Once that is paid, you’re officially booked! The final payment is due a month prior to your wedding date.
